The surgery went well — and now comes the week nobody schedules for: dressing changes, six daily doses, activity limits, and a small human who feels miserable. Here's how working parents survive it intact.
Get the discharge summary to us before pickup day
Send the surgeon's orders the moment you have them. Our nurses translate them into a day-by-day plan — wound checks, medication timing, mobility limits — so care starts correctly on morning one.
Never “eyeball” a wound
Redness spreads, drainage changes color, swelling creeps. Photograph the site at the same time daily in the same light, and send anything borderline to your nurse the same hour — early flags prevent readmissions.
Let recovery days be boring (supervised)
Our transition wing keeps post-op children resting without making rest feel like punishment: audiobooks, gentle crafts, and physio disguised as play, all within arm's reach of an RN.
